Pioneering Genetic Research Since 2020

Decoding Life
Through RNA & DNA
Innovation

At Baek Lab, we explore the fundamental mechanisms of gene expression and regulation, advancing our understanding of molecular biology to address critical challenges in human health.

Our Research
Laboratory

Laboratory of Transcription
and Epigenetics

Gene expression patterns play a crucial role in determining cell fate. Understanding how cells shape and control gene expression patterns is fundamental to stem cell biology, regenerative medicine, and cancer research.

The Laboratory of Transcription and Epigenetics (LTE) aims to uncover the mechanisms of gene expression control at the level of transcription, by which RNA molecules are transcribed from DNA.

Key topics that we are interested in include:

  • Roles of epigenetic regulators in transcription
  • Temporal dynamics of gene control
  • Spatial chromatin interactions
  • Gene regulatory networks
